Photo of the Week:
This local pearl trader in Greenhills Shopping Center in Manila uses mobile money to sell goods at her shop. She mentions that it is convenient when someone does not have cash. They can just transfer funds from their bank account to GCASH and pay her on the spot. She often uses GCASH for online purchases since she finds it her only option as she does not have a credit card. She is one of several merchants who were introduced to mobile money by rural banks in the Philippines under the USAID-supported Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines – Microenterprise Access to Banking Services (RBAP-MABS) Program.
